Repair the Fence

Clean the Fence
The next step is to clean the fence. It is worth cleaning it as thoroughly as possible so that you get the absolute best results. One of the easiest methods is to use a pressure washer. However, be sure to set the pressure to a very low setting to prevent damaging your fence. If you use a pressure washer, you might end up stripping off the wood’s topmost layer, in which case it will be absolutely necessary to complete the next step.
If you do not use a pressure washer, you can use a hose, some warm, soapy water, and a soft-bristled brush to scrub it down and rinse it off.
Allow the fence to dry completely, and choose a day to clean the fence when the forecast is clear for at least the next two or three days.
Sand and Stain the Fence
If you have not already, now you can sand the wood fence where it has splinters and any other rough spots.
Once everything is ready, you can stain the fence. The stain should contain a sealer that will protect the wood from moisture, mold, insects, and UV rays. The more solid the stain, the more protection from UV rays it will give. Allow the fence to dry completely, and enjoy a beautiful, fresh fence for the next few years!
