However warping cracking and twisting are part of the natural drying process that pressure treated lumber goes through. We use a lot of western red cedar also for our backer rails, pickets, lattice, and cap boards because of its natural ability to resist rot and termite infestation. Wester red cedar is also is more dimensionally stable and takes a stain very well. Ask you estimator which material you should use for you project.
